From dragon fruit to black sapote, Hillview Farm grows over 100 exotic fruit varieties. A field guide to twelve you'll likely encounter on your stay.

A Farm Unlike Any Other

The farm grows over 100 varieties of exotic tropical fruit, many of which are rare even within Belize.

Dragon Fruit

Pink-skinned with brilliant white or deep red flesh. Mildly sweet, incredibly photogenic.

Mamey Sapote

Salmon-pink flesh with a flavour somewhere between sweet potato and caramel. Extraordinary in smoothies.

Black Sapote

The chocolate pudding fruit. Dark, creamy flesh that is genuinely chocolatey. No added sugar required.

Jackfruit

The largest tree-borne fruit in the world. Young jackfruit is used savoury; ripe jackfruit is sweet and fragrant.

Soursop

Part strawberry, part pineapple, part citrus. Also used medicinally across the Caribbean.

Rollinia

Creamy white flesh that tastes uncannily like lemon meringue pie.

Cacao

The origin of chocolate, growing right here on the farm. We harvest pods for fresh pulp drinks, tea, and ceremonial chocolate preparations.

The best way to encounter these fruits is on a guided farm tour.
